Jan
Boydol is
an artist/nurse living in Calgary, Alberta. Jan worked as an
Emergency Nurse in Calgary for 18 years while launching a career
in the oil industry. She has worked as a landman for the past
20 years while concurrently pursuing her passion for art and
creative writing at the University of Calgary and the Alberta
College of Art and Design, as well as pursuing private instruction
in photography from several well known Canadian/US photographers.
As
well as maintaining her thriving art career, Jan is currently
a Creative Wellness Consultant in private practice, and a Research
Associate at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Nursing in
the research area of Arts in Medicine. She is a founding member
of the Creative Arts/Integrative Therapies in Health Group (CAIT),
a sessional instructor in Department of Continuing Education -Art
for Health / The Creative Journal: Mining the Gold Within, and
is currently a candidate for certification in Creative Journal
Expressive Arts with Dr. Lucia Capacchione, PhD of Cambria, California.

Jan's evocative
paintings are poetic weavings of light, atmosphere and color energy,
as she strives to give voice to the spirit, depth, and mystery
of our inner and outer landscape. Her work has been exhibited
in galleries in Calgary and the US . It can also be found in numerous
private and corporate collections. Jan's poetry has been published
in several Alberta literary magazines. She is currently working
on a book of poetry as well as a book of postcard stories.
Professional
memberships include the Writer's Guild of Alberta, The Federation
of Canadian Artists, the Creative Arts/Integrative Therapies
in Health Care Group, The International Arts in Medicine Association,
The Society for Arts in Healthcare and The Calgary Holistic
Nurses Association.
